5th July 18:15 - Job Done

We made it to the top of Corran Tuathail, the 6th and final peak, with Martin in tow and although we didn’t win the award for the biggest cheer, we did have the best and only team song written by John (lyrics to follow).

This final peak was a fantastic finish with the daunting ‘Devils Ladder’ to negotiate, which is basically a very steep 200 metre waterfall to climb.  The only way is up!

We had a relaxed walk back to the finish line and crossed the challenge finish line with 10 minutes to spare.  Job done.  Followed swiftly by popping a bottle of bubbly and Ross, Louise and myself all learning that you can’t down it from the bottle while it’s still fizzing.  The results were explosive and most entertaining!

Back to the hotel for a shower, party and some of Irelands best alcohol!

23:00 - Ferry quick crossing, let’s bag another peak

We met George on the ferry.  Louise needed a hug, so what better than an 8 foot monkey!  Steve looks suitably unimpressed as usual.

Off to Slieve Donard to bag the 5th peak.  The whole team’s up for it and it’s going to be intense!

13:06 - Backtrack to Saturday Afternoon

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Step back a little.  After Snowdon we walked ScaFell Pike in really perfect weather.  Unfortunately my knee hurt after Snowdon so I was going to go half way, but ended up near the top.  The rest of the team summited with a satisfying cheer which could be heard down the mountain.  Total time for Scafell Pike 5h 50mins which was faster than our previous attempt 6 weeks ago :)

Onward to Scotland and the journey and my bad knee had knocked me into an emotional wreck so I decided to sit Ben Nevis out and tidy the bus while the drivers got a well earned rest.

11:08 2 Down (and up) 4 to go

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

Hi All.  Completed Snowdon this morning at 9:36am.  That’s 4 hours 36 minutes.  We were at the summit at 7:35am and it all seems a bit surreal.  We’re on the bus to the Lake District now to attack Scafell Pike.  Bit tired and wish we had a posh bus with beds,  but this one is getting us from A to B to C to D to E to F!

Hopefully Steve will get blogging again soon!  Lazy cow.

02:38 - Naked at the services

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

Morning, Just stopped at Chester services to freshen up.  Nice.  Used the telephone box for the changing of underwear.  Most liberating experience of the journey so far!!!  Now on our way to Snowdon!

As promised, here’s the picture of Steve trying to eliminate the bovine competition on the mountain railway on Snaefell.  Fans of Steve will be pleased to know he’ll be blogging again today

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Hi molti picchi poco tempo fans.  Steve is otherwise entertained at the moooment after his earlier attempt to kill Estefan up Snaefell (pics to follow).  For now here’s a picture of the team up the first peak.  Snaefell in 3h 50mins.  Hope you’re all watching the GPS tracker site?  Next peak Snowdon at 5am Saturday, oooh, that’s just over 6 hours away and we’re all still stinky from today!

Hello everyone its Estefan

I’ve managed after a small squabble to pull cousin steve away from the laptop (rumours of me sitting on him are untrue)

Currently were on the outskirts of liverpool and there have been rumours that some of the walkers may be getting steak for dinner, I’m protesting that you shouldn’t eat cow as well ….  i’m a cow and it hurts my feelings….

Oh this is me and steve:

10:30 - Frimley!

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Arrived at Frimley and finally got to eat something, ah the lovely grass.  Mind you everyone is eating sweets and junk food, they claim its ok as the need to carbo load, i say their talking rubbish!

 Steve at frimley

Also picked up the drivers Matin and Adrian, and they were driving well untill they discovered the warning light on the dashboard was because the backdoor was open and not because of the windscreen wipers……

think its time for a small nap

 Love Steve
